A Multi-Day Wedding at Amangiri

On the border of Arizona and Utah sits the oasis that is Amangiri, a bucket list venue for wedding planners in the luxury space. When my clients approached me about wedding planning here, I was ecstatic to create in such a unique space.

Amangiri is extremely isolated, so every piece of our wedding planning needed to be brought in, aside from some local entertainment from the Navajo Nation that we used. Additionally, private travel is essential for guests to avoid the four to five hour drive from either Phoenix/Scottsdale or Las Vegas airports. From the FBO, however, it’s a short 15 to 20 minute drive to the resort.

We planned a full itinerary for our guests, from hiking through the iconic Antelope Canyon to scaling the plateaus surrounding the resort on their incredible via ferrata, and indulging in the serene Amangiri spa. 

The wedding weekend focused on two dinners. The first one was connected to the hotel lobby at Desert Lounge, overlooking the white mountains and mesas of the desert. For the second evening, guests arrived via horseback to Raven’s Nest, the isolated venue that is perched a short hike up a boulder face and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding desert and stars.

To keep with the color story of the venue, our event design was muted and pulled from the natural elements and colors of the land. We used taupes, ivory, cream, tan, charcoal, and a touch of yellow from the local floral that adorned the table tops. Creating within a venue as distinctly designed and immersed in the landscape as Amangiri means highlighting what’s already there. It’s an unmatched canvas.
